We have organized and are hosting activities for five days in Parga, including excursions into town, a private boat charter sailing to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, and an excursion to an regional ancient site and mountain experience. Our birthday celebration will be on the evening of Tuesday, June 29. We understand that some folks will only be able to join us for part of the long weekend, or will only want to participate in some of these activities during your visit to Greece, and we completely understand. We would love to see you for as much as you are able to attend, and we hope you can use this time in Greece to also explore the country which we love.
Below is a breakdown of each day’s planned activities.
As everyone arrives and settles into Parga, we’ll gather for welcome drinks at the Parga Beach Resort and a light dinner at Lianolia, under the direction of Greek, two-star Michelin chef Georgiana Haliadakis. A relaxed first evening together overlooking the beach to kick off the weekend celebration.
Spend the day relaxing at the resort and Valtos Beach, Parga’s 2-mile white-sand, Blue Flag beach, or for those feeling adventurous, we will organize optional walking tours and excursions in Parga town to explore the Venetian castle and alleyways, tour an oil olive oil factory, and learn about the town’s history. In the evening, we are hosting a dinner in Parga town at a restaurant to be announced later.
Join us aboard a private boat charter for a day on the Ionian Sea, exploring Paxos and Antipaxos, swimming at beautiful beaches including Voutoumi, visiting the blue caves, cliffs, and rock formations, and spending time in the picturesque town of Gaios. We will be hosting an early dinner in town before heading back on a sunset cruise to Parga.
Enjoy a leisurely day at the resort and on the beach, with time to relax and enjoy Parga Beach Resort, or meander into town for more exploration or shopping. That evening we’ll come together for the big celebration at Kokona, Parga Beach Resort’s authentic Greek restaurant, with dinner, drinks and dancing into the late hours.
For those of you who wish to join us, after a leisurely breakfast, we will organize a tour of a local ancient site and a visit to the mountains for which Epirus is known. We are considering a visit to either the ancient oracle of Zeus at Dodone or the oracle of the underworld at Nekromanteion, but details will be announced later.
For those who remain through Thursday, enjoy a final good-bye breakfast in Parga before departures.
